One of the IFBB’s hottest stars comments on her Arnold invite

We caught up with the defending Europa Figure champ and one of the hottest IFBB figure stars competing today, Amanda Jo Savell. Amanda Jo had this to say when asked how she felt about her second trip to the Arnold in as many years:

“I just got home and received a phone call from Kim Oddo (my trainer) telling me about the invite.  I was so excited about it bc after being in it last year I came away with two goals obtained,  first being invited and second getting top three.  I have already started my diet in hopes I would be back,  I am even more determined then ever before!!  I welcome being on stage with new competitors,  it always adds more motivation (if that is possible)!!! ”

The Texas sweetheart also mention, “Oh and u better bring it bc I know I’m going for the number one spot!!” The heat is on and Amanda Jo is determined.

Cathy LeFrancois’ speaks about the Arnold Classic invite

Cathy LeFrancois’ last trip to the Arnold Classic as a bodybuilder was in 2003, when she won the Ms. International contest in the Lightweight division. The next year, she tried a new approach to competition, competing in the Figure class, but last year, she decided that bodybuilding was in her blood, and switched back. It was a smart move, as Cathy received an invitation to the 2007 Arnold Classic weekend Ms. International contest.

Speaking to Cathy, she was very excited, as she has just found out that she was on the list not 15 minutes before. Cathy had a few comments regarding the Arnold Classic, and her first bodybuilding show a month or two ago in Atlantic City.

“Honestly, I was worried about being invited, you never know if they will accept, but now that I know that I will be back, I am happy and relieved. I am at 141 pounds right now, and I want to be 135 pounds hard for the Arnold Classic. I am happy to be able to compete there, but hopefully, I can do great, like I did the last time I competed there as a bodybuilder. It will be more difficult, as the last time, there were two classes, but now there is only one.”

“I just started training this morning again after some minor surgery, but I am going to keep my diet, do cardio, and I am really going to focus on this competition. At the Atlantic City contest, I wasn’t hard enough. It was my first bodybuilding show since 2003. The judges just want me to be a little harder, not bigger than my last bodybuilding show. Believe it or not, I didn’t touch one dumbbell for three years now. At the Atlantic City contest, I wasnt confident enough, perhaps a little nervous. There were a few other poses than my last contest, but don’t underestimate me for the Arnold Classic. I will be ready. I want to look good, my figure, my face, my hair… I want to bring a nice package to the show, everything like the bigger bodybuilders but in a small and powerful way.”

Jenny Lynn absent from the ASC

Jenny Lynn fell ill before last year’s Arnold Figure International and will sit out the 2007 show. Jenny has reportedly moved out of California and will be concentrating on defending her Figure Olympia title in 2007.

Reigning Fitness Champ, Adela Garcia comments on the Arnold Line-up

We spoke with the defending Fitness International champ, Adela Garcia, about the ’07 Arnold Classic. When asked how she feels about the show she said, “I’m more then excited, I am ready to go, this is my life and I’m planning on winning.” We asked her about her routine and she offered up, “I’m ready to go with a new routine and promise it will be unlike anything I’ve done before.”

Adela is going after her third ASC fitness title which would bring her one step closer to Susie Curry’s record of four titles. Pick up the newest FLEX magazine, which features Adela in it’s lingerie issue.
Good Luck Adela!

Monica Brant to skip the Arnold

When asked why her name was absent from the Arnold Classic list this year, Monica Brant-Peckham told us she needed a break to work on other things. This will be the first holiday season in some time that Mo doesn’t have to diet.

Enjoy the break Monica!
