Chicago Pro Photos, Results & Review

IFBB Figure Pro Candice Lewis has found a winning look and has positioned herself as one of the rising stars in the division. Coming off her first pro victory, Lewis repeated her efforts over the weekend at the Chicago Pro show. Undeniably some of the best genetics and structure in the figure ranks helped her lock in the win. Nola Trimble took top honors in her IFBB Pro debut in the Women’s Physique division and Monique Jones punched her ticket to the Olympia with a win in female bodybuilding.

The Figure competition showcased a variety of shapes and sizes for the judges to choose from. Candice Lewis won in unamious fashion and if she brings a similar look to the Olympia stage in 12 weeks don’t be surprised if she is in the hunt for the top 6. The only thing she has to watch is her quads and them not overpowering her upper body. When most women are trying to build their legs, Candice is trying to downsize them and the muscle comes from years of running track. Natalie Waples finished in her highest placing as a pro with the runner-up spot. Natalie’s placings have been sporadic since turning pro at the 2008 North American Championships but has steadily improved. Alea Suarez showed she’s a threat to the top spots coming in third. This sets up an interesting scenario as the Olympia nears. Waples and Suarez are now tied for second in the Olympia Point Series behind Allison Frahn. The two leaped over Cheryl Brown who has yet to qualify for the Olympia and finished in a disappointing 7th at this show.

Nola Trimble beat out a competitive fiel in her IFBB Pro Women’s Physique debut. Mikaila Soto finished in her highest placing as a pro by taking second place. Rounding out the top three was Monica (Mark) Escalante. Monica made the switch from Figure after being told she was too muscular and often too hard for Figure. Look for her to be a top threat in every Women’s Physique competition she enters.

Monica Jones won her first pro show since achieving IFBB pro status at the 2010 North American Championships. Monique continues to refine her physique and possesses tremendous potential in the division. Helle Neilson rebounded from a 9th place finish at the Europa Hartford show. Michelle Cummings rounded out the top three in just her second pro show. Michelle was second in her IFBB pro debut at the Europa Hartford.
