The 2013 IFBB California Pro Figure took place over the weekend and it was filled with surprises. Camala Rodriquez made the switch from Fitness to Figure at the end of last year and after finishing third at the Ft. Lauderdale Cup and 6th at this year’s Figure International it appeared she was more than able to hold her own. She proved that she could and left with her first prof Figure win.
It was a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards for Camala’s win. Allison Frahn was the runner-up for a second year in a row. Rounding out the top three was Texan Kim Sheppad. Kim’s third place finish was the highest as a pro. She was fifth at this show last year and the third place finish provided her points in the Olympia point series. Erin Harding caught a few people by surprise as she finished in the fourth place spot. She was seventh in last year’s Tournament of Champions. Francine Sablan took top honors at last year’s NPC USA and won her pro debut, the Tournament of Champions. She’s yet to match that look and finished 16th in the 2012 Olympia and fifth at this show.
