First Female Little Person Competes in NPC Figure

You’ve probably met someone who says the’d like to compete in a show but how many of them have followed through with it? It takes dedication to compete. Just ask Arizona resident Amanda Loy. Amanda took the stage over the weekend in her first NPC Figure competition but she’s not your average competitor. The 22-year old nursing student was born with hypochondroplasia, a form of short-limbed dwarfism. At four feet tall and weighing just 72 pounds she became the smallest woman to ever compete in the NPC.

The upbeat and positive competitor explained her condition to KPHO CBS 5 as “pretty much like an average height body, shrunk down into a smaller package.” Amanda finished fourth at the NPC Natural Western USA Figure competition and we’re told was a fan favorite at the show. Check out her story in the video below.

Thank you Amanda for reminding us all that “if you want to be fit and be the best you can be, it just takes dedication.”
