Momma Flake repeats for pro win #2

Michelle Flake did it again! Our favorite momma brought home win number two in as many weeks. Ma Flake told me she is enjoying a nice meal and no it wasn’t possum pie. I asked her if she would autograph my stuffed squirrel but se wasn’t amused. Those of you who don’t know, Michelle is from Arkansas and we like to kid her about her southern roots.

There can only be one winner and sadly Mary Jo Cooke knows that all too well. MJ place second for an unprecedented fifth time this year. Looking on the bright side of thing for Mary, she is already qualified for the 2008 Figure Olympia and she has improved greatly over the season. The look Mary brought to the stage the past two weekends were her best looks of her career. She brought a much fuller look to her physique which suits her well.

Brenda Smith qualified for the Olympia her first time out as a pro. Brenda has flown under radar for the most part and hasn’t received much “hype” or exposure. This is proof that if a competitor shows up with a great physique any cry of “politics” goes out the window. Congrats on a sensational debut Brenda.

One surprise based on the call outs was how far Jelena Abbou fell in her placings. The critique she always receives is her lower half doesn’t match her top half in terms of conditioning. She’s a fierce competitor and one of the top models in the fitness world today. As I’ve told her before, I think she will continue to have more success off stage than on and tonight was further evidence of that. Where she goes from here is up in the air but make no mistake about it, she’s one of the most beautiful women in the industry today.

This concludes the IFBB Figure season for 2007. We’ll be posting more interviews and stories on the women of fitness and figure to keep yall coming back until the 2008 season begins.
