Supplements = Hope in a Bottle?

The New York Times has an article that takes aim at supplements. The story, “When the Gym isn’t Enough” questions the validity of supplements. There are some points I agree with while others I don’t. The opening paragraph says, “OVER the course of a year, Alex Feintuch, a 20-year-old sophomore at the University of South Carolina, spent more than $1,000 on fitness supplements.” Is that supposed to be a shocking number? That’s less than $100 a month. I’d be willing to bet if you add up how much the average college student spend on eating out and alcohol it will drawf the supplement number.

There’s nothing really new or earth shattering in the piece but if you’re bored check it out.
