2013 NPC Excalibur Closes Registration After Hitting 400 Entrants

If you’ve competed in or attended a NPC event this year you’ve likely noticed the numbers have never been higher. As more competitors take the stage in bikini and men’s physique local shows are now the size pro qualifiers were a few years ago. In an unprecedented move, promoter Jon Lindsay capped the 2013 NPC Excalibur at 400 entrants. He recently announced on Facebook that they’ve hit that number already and they will no longer accept entries. Will this be a sign of things to come for other shows? It certainly will be interesting to watch in the months ahead. There’s definitely a point where shows need a cap or move to two days.

Jon has already announced his deadline for 2014’s Excalibur. The show will move to a two-day event with a cap of 650 competitors.

*NO MORE ENTRIES FOR 2013 NPC EXCALIBUR*
We can no longer accept entries for the Excalibur on December 14th no matter the reason. We shut it down because we reached 400 registered 4 weeks and 2 days before the contest. With the athletes and attendees we will be over capacity and in VIOLATION OF FIRE SAFETY CODES if we allow anyone else to enter.
