Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Partners with Extreme Athletes

Bobbi Brown Cosemetics
Bobbi Brown Cosmetics has partnered with extreme athletes for their campaign #LONGWEARLIFEPROOF. The campaign utilizes user-generated content to launch the brand’s new Long-Wear Eye Collection. A press release states, “Bobbi Brown Cosmetics will partner with four decorated and GoPro-sponsored athletes with diverse specialties: American World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic Gold Medalist Julia Mancuso; halfpipe snowboarding Olympic gold and silver medalist and three-time Olympian Hannah Teter; World Surf League (WSL) Longboard Champion and professional surfer Kelia Moniz; and world record BASE jumper Roberta Mancino.”

On their youtube channel the company shares, “Finally, it’s makeup that’s as strong and beautiful as you are.” The women are definitely strong and beautiful, no question about that. There’s a bit of a disconnect between the initial video and how it ties into the Bobbi Brown line. The company feels each of the four brand ambassadors embodies strength, confidence and courage. Can’t disagree there and that part comes through in the video but the tie in to Cosmetics is lost.

Acting as brand ambassadors with a global reach in the millions, each athlete will capture raw footage of themselves in their sport wearing Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Long-Wear makeup. Outfitted with a GoPro camera, the women will ski (Julia), snowboard (Hannah), surf (Kelia), and BASE jump/shark dive (Roberta) showcasing how they live life to the extreme and how–throughout it all–their Long-Wear makeup remains water-proof, smudge-proof, sweat-proof, and above all, life-proof. By leveraging their unique talents, #LONGWEARLIFEPROOF intends to prove that Long-Wear makeup can push the limits just as these real women athletes do, and just as real women do in their daily lives. Moreover, in giving the athletes an opportunity and platform to share their stories, the campaign also aims to celebrate the idea that female athletes do indeed care about beauty and the role that makeup plays in further boosting their confidence.

The individual videos from each athlete do a much better job of brand integration.

As if winning an Olympic Gold Medal wasn’t enough, Julia Mancuso is also the most-decorated female alpine skier in the world. With five World Cup wins, four World Championship podium finishes and three Olympic medals, she dominates the slopes. Watch Julia tear it up downhill and put our Long-Wear collection to the test in this incredible, self-recorded GoPro footage.

Confidence, focus and unparalleled talent have earned snowboarder Hannah Teter serious success—she’s got championships, X Games medals, and an Olympic gold under her belt. She may be an extreme athlete, but Hannah still wants to look pretty when she’s shredding the slopes. She wears Bobbi’s Long-Wear Collection so she can push the limits without reapplying—take a look at her fierce GoPro footage.

The ‘Perfect’ Body – Video by Casey Ho

Cassey Ho - Perfect Body
Cassey Ho, creator of Blogilates, has posted a Youtube video that will force you to think about yourself, your thoughts, comments and actions. The video has over 2 million views since it was posted one week ago. The “Perfect” Body makes quite a statement in two minutes. Casey is fit and toned but finds herself second guessing her body after reading negative social media comments. How often have you received 100 positive comments but then one negative one will stick with you? It’s likely happened to you at some point.

The video is extremely well done and worth watching.

It’s a reminder that we’re all human. We have feelings and no matter how strong we look and how hard out bodies may be, negativity can mess with your mindset. It’s a perfect reminder than being a Hardbody means more than just looking like one. Don’t let your self-worth be defined by how ripped your abs are or how round your butt is. No one is perfect and while there’s something we’d all like to change about ourselves don’t let derail you from becoming stronger and healthier… from the inside out.

Bob Lorimer Named President of Arnold Classic Productions

Bob Lorimer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 22, 2015

Robert Lorimer Named President of Classic Productions
COLUMBUS, OHIO – Robert Lorimer has been named President of Classic Productions, Inc., and will one day succeed his father, James J. Lorimer, as the CEO of the company that produces multi-sport festivals in Columbus, Ohio; Madrid, Spain; Rio de Janeiro, Brasil; Melbourne, Australia; and Johannesburg, South Africa.

Robert Lorimer has worked for Classic Productions for 20 years with a focus on overall operations, professional and amateur bodybuilding events, and the recent expansion of Arnold Sports Festival USA to the Ohio Expo Center where a variety of sports competitions were presented in 10 expo center buildings. Robert Lorimer has also spearheaded the organization’s international expansion efforts, including the creation of the Arnold Classic Europe in 2011, the Arnold Classic Brasil in 2013, the Arnold Classic Australia in 2015, and the planned debut of the Arnold Classic South Africa in 2016.

“Bob has a complete understanding of the Arnold Sports Festival business model and is uniquely positioned to lead this organization in the future,” said James J. Lorimer, who first partnered with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1976 and later founded the Arnold Classic in 1989. “Arnold and I are confident that Bob has the ability to oversee the continued growth and success of the Arnold Sports Festival for the next 20 years and beyond.”

James J. Lorimer will remain CEO of Classic Productions and continue to oversee the organization’s daily operations. Additional responsibilities will continue to be transitioned to Robert Lorimer.

The Arnold Sports Festival, held each March in Columbus, Ohio, is the largest multi-sport event in the United States. The 2015 Arnold Sports Festival featured more than 18,000 athletes from 80 nations competing in 50 sports and events over four days. Nearly 200,000 people attended.

The Arnold Sports Festival USA was founded in 1989 as a one-day bodybuilding competition at the Franklin County Veterans Memorial known as the Arnold Classic. In the 1990s, the event began inviting additional sport competitions and, in 2000, the festival expanded into the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Today, the Arnold Sports Festival includes one of the largest fitness expositions in the nation and is also one of the largest annual events in Columbus. It is the only event that completely utilizes the Greater Columbus Convention Center and the Ohio Expo Center.

Muscular Development Features Dana Linn Bailey on Cover

dana linn bailey magazine
Dana Linn Bailey is without question the most fascinating female in the IFBB Pro League. She’s gone from missing the top five in an amateur Figure competition (6th place in 2006, her first show) to making history by winning the inaugural Women’s Physique Olympia in 2013. She also notched her name in history by becoming the first ever Women’s Physique Pro at the 2011 NPC JR USA.

She’s had success competing but it’s her hustle away from stage that is making waves in the industry. Dana Linn has built a fan base that’s unlike any you’ve seen. She boasts over 1.4 million fans on Facebook and over 743,000 followers on instagram. At any given event you’ll see fans wait hours to meet and take a selfie with her. You have to admire the hustle it took to get that level of stardom in the bodybuilding world. It’s something few have ever achieved, especially as a female with muscle.

Dana (DLB as she’s known by her thousands of fans) is making history once again by gracing the cover of Muscular Development magazine. The magazine is known for being the “hardcore bodybuilding” publication. The magazine typically features a professional male bodybuilder that looks larger than life on the cover. Occasionally there will be a female featured on the cover but she’s typically in a swimsuit and paired with some bro cheese’n from ear to ear.

DLB MD Cover

Muscular Development Features Dana Linn Bailey on Cover

For the June 2015 issue the publishers of MD rolled the dice on putting DLB, a woman with muscle on the cover. They didn’t put her in a bikini, photoshop off her muscle or outer her next to an oiled up dude. It’s something that hasn’t been seen since the 90s when women’s bodybuilding was in its heyday. They were smart for featuring her on the cover and the only thing smarter would have been doing it before last year’s Olympia or before this year’s Arnold. Had they done that you can bet your high-priced food cooler that every person in her line would have a copy of the mag. No doubt DLB fans will still have a copy in their hands for her to sign. Will the cover sell? No question about it, at least in my opinion.

Dana is currently preparing for an appearance on American Ninja Warrior documenting it on her Youtube Channel.

Can a Fitness & Wellness Regimen Empower Women?

Can a Fitness & Wellness Regimen Empower Women?
Celebrity Trainer Holly Perkins Explains 3 Reasons Why It Can

From an early age, women have foisted on them images of the “ideal” female body, and self-esteem can plummet when they fail to measure up.

But celebrity trainer Holly Perkins says it’s time women stop buying into those societal pressures.

“There’s this perception that all women need to look like perfect runway models,” says Perkins. “They can feel the anxiety building when they are trying to meet someone else’s expectations. That’s when the effort to lose weight or get fit can add to the stresses of life instead of relieving them.”

Certainly, women should want to improve their health, get fit and look gorgeous all at the same time, says Perkins, who recently released a home-exercise system designed specifically for women called baladea (www.baladea.com), with regimens she developed to fuse fitness and wellness exercises.

But getting in shape needs to be something women want for themselves, and not an effort to mimic some airbrushed image on a magazine cover at the supermarket, she says.

Perkins realized several years ago that her clients met their weight-loss goals faster when she created programs that addressed both their fitness and wellness needs at the same time.

They also felt happier about themselves. So she incorporated yoga and other stress-relieving and relaxation techniques into the baladea program.

Perkins offers three reasons why the right fitness and wellness regimen can empower women and emancipate them from society’s image pressures:

• Because looking good makes you feel good. That’s especially true when you’re trying to look good to please yourself and not others, Perkins says. “There’s this sense of empowerment when you exercise, eat a healthier diet and lose weight because it’s what you want and not because of peer pressure or societal pressures,” she says.

Self-esteem rises when you improve your image on your terms, she says, and as a result “looking gorgeous never felt better.”

• Because the science says so. Research shows that stress can keep you from losing weight and might even cause you to add pounds. Even if you eat well and exercise, an excessive amount of stress can counteract all your efforts. That’s why meshing fitness and wellness works so well, Perkins says.

“Stress reduction and relaxation can significantly improve weight loss,” she says. “That allows you to look and feel your absolute best.”

• Because while improving your look, you also become healthier. You will feel amazing not just because of elevated self-esteem, but because your body really is functioning better because of the diet and exercise, Perkins says. Your energy level will rise and “you will feel ready for anything,” she says.

“You can look awesome and you can feel happy at the same time,” Perkins says. “It’s all about letting your true self shine.”

About Holly Perkins
Holly Perkins is a national fitness expert and developer of baladea (www.baladea.com), a customizable fitness and wellness system for women. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), one of the most prestigious certifications in the industry. She believes that making fitness a fun lifestyle is the best way to achieve true change. As one of the nation’s leading weight-loss experts and a highly sought-after celebrity trainer, she has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and on national TV shows.

P!nk Responds to Weight Criticism

P!nk is a Hardbody. Why? If it wasn’t obvious from her lyrics perhaps her response via twitter will clear things up. Being a HARDBODY is more than looking like a fitness competitor or a cover model. A Hardbody is strong on the inside. A Hardbody is confident and comfortable with themselves. A Hardbody isn’t afraid to speak their mind. P!nk is a Hardbody.

P!nk recently attended a cancer benefit and the online community became fixated on her looks. Her response to the critics was nothing short of awesome and it’s a great reminder to be happy with yourself. A little time off from being in tip top shape isn’t a bad thing. You don’t NEED to be ripped to feel pretty. You don’t need to have six pack abs to feel beautiful.

“I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off.” – Pink

“I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. You’re referring to the pictures of me from last night’s cancer benefit that I attended to support my dear friend Dr. Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you. While I admit that that dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful. So, my good and concerned peoples, please don’t worry about me. I’m not worried about me. And I’m not worried about you either:)… I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern. Love, cheesecake.”

2015 IFBB Edmonton Pro Show Cancelled

edmonton pro show
Yesterday it was announced that the FIBO Power Pro show was cancelled and today we learn there’s yet another show removed from the IFBB Pro League schedule. The IFBB Edmonton Pro was slated to feature Men’s Open Bodybuilding, Men’s 212 Bodybuilding, Men’s Physique, Women’s Physique, Figure and Bikini on April 17-19, 2015. A hefty undertaking to put on a show that big on top of an expo. It appears the promoter, Rick Knight bit off more than he could chew. The show has been removed from the IFBB Pro League schedule without notice or warning. Kind of a kick in the arse to competitors who were prepping and fans who were planning on attending the competition.

The show was being promoted on social media up until a couple of months ago. IFBB Pro bodybuilder Justin Compton his experience related to the show on MuscularDevelopment.com‘s forum, “I think the Edmonton show is cancelled as well. I reached out to the promoter several times before even doing the arnolds and he didn’t even respond to my emails. After Australia I even asked for a contract since it says to inquiry on the website and I still never got a response.” Others have noted they asked for contracts (required in order to compete in a pro show) but did not hear back.

When visiting the official site for the event (edmontonproshow.com) you’ll find nothing but the message below.

no go for pro show

We’ve reached out to the promoter for an official word but have yet to hear back.

2015 FIBO POWER – IFBB Pro Show Canceled

2015 FIBO POWER

The 2015 IFBB FIBO POWER Pro show has been canceled. On March 30th the promotion posted on Facebook that SCITEC Nutrition would be the new sponsor for the show and confirmed that three of their (the title sponsor) athletes would be competing. Yesterday, the promotion provided an update  that read (translated via Bing), “Not good news, many of you will be disappointed. We must unfortunately cancel the FIBO POWER night session. The reason: Some athletes can not start. Therefore the planned field not coming together. Since we make no half measures, we have decided to cancel the FIBO POWER night session completely. Because we think: where FIBO POWER is on it, should be in there also, FIBO POWER. Those who have already bought a ticket, refunded the entry of tickets.de of course. With the purchased ticket for the evening event you will receive free access to FIBO POWER continue to 2015.”

While a refunded ticket is great what about the competitors who trained weeks/months for the show? I’m not quite sure what “some athletes can not start” means but it’s horrible news for those who dieted their asses off to compete. It doesn’t matter if it was one or a hundred. If a show is on the schedule a competitor shouldn’t have to stress over if it is going to get canceled or not due to not enough people showing up. Is it the competitors’ fault that only a few people decided to compete? Not so much. Competitors should be pissed and so should fans.

The FIBO POWER Night session was slated to qualify one person for the Olympia in the Men’s Bodybuilding division. While this event didn’t feature any of the women’s pro events it is of concern when a pro show is canceled. It’s even more troubling when it’s canceled one week out from the competition.

The expo and other events will still take place.

The event features a large expo, amateur bodybuilding, strongman and many other events. The IFBB Pro League Men’s Bodybuilding and Women’s Fitness will be the center-piece of the event.

The inaugural Arnold Brasil Pro Fitness event was won by Ryall Graber in 2013 and last year Bethany Cisternino took home top honors. Both will be back again this year. Leading fitness pro Tanji Johnson is also on the list along with top contenders Regiane Da Silva and Myriam Capes. Rising stars Fiona Harris and Michelle Blank will be ones to watch a well.

Brandon Curry was the first-ever Arnold Classic Brasil champion and will look to add another trophy to his collection. He’ll have his work cut out for him as the men’s line up is a stacked one. Lionel Beyeke, Big Ramy, Victor Martinez, Juan Morel and Cedric McMillan have all shown they can win a show on any give day.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Arnold Sports Festival will return to Rio de Janeiro, Brasil in 2015.

The third-annual Arnold Classic Brasil will be held May 29-31, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro and will feature IFBB Pro League men’s bodybuilding and women’s fitness, a complete lineup of amateur bodybuilding events, other sports and a fitness expo.

Arnold Classic Brasil is a venture between Gov. Schwarzenegger, Arnold Sports Festival co-promoter Jim Lorimer, International Federation of Body Building president Rafael Santonja, and Savaget Promotions of Sáo Paulo, Brazil.

“We are very excited to return the Arnold Sports Festival to South America again in 2015,” Lorimer said. “The creation of the first Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid in October 2012 proved that there was great demand worldwide for the Arnold Sports Festival concept, and we have enjoyed similar great success in Rio de Janeiro the past two years.”

The Arnold Classic Brasil features professional men’s bodybuilding and women’s fitness sanctioned by the IFBB Pro League and amateur contests sanctioned by the International Federation of Body Building. Additional sports are also featured.

The Arnold Classic Brasil builds on the success of the Arnold Sports Festival, which began as the Arnold Classic professional men’s bodybuilding competition in 1989 and has grown to include more than 18,000 athletes competing in more than 45 sports and events each year. The Arnold Classic Europe debuted in October 2011 and will return in October 2012.

She had a role in The Expendables 3, will appear in the upcoming Entourage movie and kicks some ass in Furious 7. The trailers and Behind-The-Scenes clips show Ronda throwing down against Michelle Rodriquez. “Ronda Rousey is a game changer. She’s so cool,” says Michelle Rodriguez. Michelle’s character in the movie is Leticia “Letty” Ortiz who is a no BS type of woman. Michelle genuinely seems excited to work with the UFC champ when talking about their fight scene.

Lofty Goals with WWE’s Relaunch of TapouT

WWE & TapouT
Today Authentic Brands Group (ABG) and the WWE announced they will be relaunching the once popular MMA clothing brand, TapouT. The new partnerships has plans to reposition the clothing line as a “fitness lifestyle brand”.  Which is pretty much what every clothing company in fitness claims to do but only a few are successful at it. Given the platform the WWE has the clothing will certainly get noticed but I’ll be taking a “wait and see” approach to their fitness lifestyle claims, especially with the female audience.

“This is a powerhouse pairing given the synergy between TapouT’s brand promise to be the premier hard-body fitness brand, and WWE’s commitment to training and fitness,” says Nick Woodhouse, President and Chief Marketing Officer of ABG. Anyone who uses the word “synergy” raises a huge red flag and then to claim TapouT’s brand promise is to be the premier “hard-body fitness brand”. Thanks for the chuckle!

There was no mention of what will be the key differentiators in the new TapouT line other than a new logo. The release is mostly fluff and does little to speak to specifics.

The press release stated, “The next generation of TapouT preserves the original brand essence and drives a hard-body, fitness-centric message positioned around motivation, discipline and determination. An all new line of men’s and women’s performance apparel and accessories will launch at retail in Spring 2016. New TapouT branding and packaging will roll out in key categories throughout 2015 starting with beverages, supplements and fitness centers.”

Promoting fitness is great but simply slapping your logo on clothing and aligning with the WWE doesn’t make you a “premier hard-body fitness brand”. TapouT has attempted to be more than a clothing line before. In 2009, TapouT partnered with Champion Nutrition on a supplement line. It failed miserably.  Currently TapouT is schilling a “Lose Weight and Get Ripped in 90 Days. Extreme Home Fitness Program.” on www.tapoutxt.com. A look at the biggest online supplement retailer, Bodybuilding.com and the line no longer is for sale.

Maybe with the focus shifting away from MMA the brand will do better in their attempt to capture the beverage and supplement market but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

UFC Champ Ronda Rousey on The View

ronda rousey the view
The Women’s UFC Bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey stopped by ABC’s The View. We learn Rosie Perez is a huge Rousey fan and the rest of the hosts are pretty clueless when it comes to Ronda’s accomplishments. Thankfully they had note cards to help them out. When asked about her next fight Ronda channels her inner Jay-Z and shared, “I have 99 problems but a Bethe ain’t one” referring to her opponent Bethe Correia.

The champ then has some fun with the show’s warm-up comedian, Tom Kelly. It goes about as well as you might expect.

After going on the show Ronda shared a couple clips with her fans.

Don’t F with Ronda Rousey – UFC 190 Confirmed

The UFC made it official. The UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey will defend her title against Bethe Correia on August 1, 2015. The champ quickly posted a message on social media, “This chick is gunna learn why I’m the last woman on earth you should fuck with on August 1st”. After the two squared off at a press promotion, Ronda told her Facebook fans… “Don’t get me wrong, I love fighting at home, but the passion for the sport here is unparalleled – whether I’m hated or loved I appreciate every ounce of passion the Brazilian fans give me looking forward to putting my heart and life on the line again in Brazil.”

Ronda enters the fight undefeated with an 11-0 record. Her opponent, Bethe “Pitbull” Correia is also undefeated with a 9-0 record. Bethe won her first two UFC fights by decision and the last one via TKO. The bad blood between Rousey and Correia began to boil when Bethe said, “I already proved to the world that the Four Horsewomen are a big joke. I just need to conclude my work getting the number one, the leader.” Now she’ll have her chance on August 1st. The “Four Horsewomen” are made up of Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey. Bethe has successfully defeated Shayna and Jessamyn en route to her fight against their fearless leader, Ronda Rousey.

Janet Layug Wins 2015 IFBB New Zealand Pro

Janet Layug continued her winning ways in the IFBB Pro Bikini division. Janet was coming off a win at the first-ever Arnold Australia and followed it up with a win at the 2015 IFBB New Zealand Pro Bikini competition. The event took place in Aukland, New Zealand. The win puts Janet in the driver’s seat heading into the 2015 Bikini Olympia where she’ll undoubtedly be the one to watch and have the best chance at dethroning Ashley Kaltwasser.

Nike’s Training Club has kicked things up a notch and gone global. Their group workouts look more like a rave that a dreadful gym class and it’s pretty awesome. Under Armour focuses on the team aspect in their new “Women of Will” spot. Everlast isn’t known for their marketing to women but in their newest spot they take a shot at it. Last but certainly not least, ALWAYS shares a follow up video to their hugely successful “Like A Girl” campaign. Always #LikeAGirl – Stronger Together
As part of International Women’s Day, Procter & Gamble released a follow-up “LIKE video showing how women are changing the meaning of “LIKE A GIRL.”

Alone you’re awesome. Together we rock.

This year, for International Women’s Day, let’s all join forces to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence through puberty and beyond by showing them that doing things #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.

Using the phrase “like a girl” is an insult to any adolescent girl, and a tough blow to her confidence. We started a conversation to help change all that with our #LikeAGirl social experiment and film. And millions of girls from around the world responded big time. In fact, many of you started a movement: you shared your videos and personal stories, and showed the world that doing things #LikeAGirl really is downright amazing.

Together, we’re changing what it means to do things #LikeAGirl. And our movement’s growing bigger and stronger everyday. Thanks for sharing. Keep doing things #LikeAGirl. It’s working.

2015 Arnold Australia Results

2015 Arnold Australia
2015 Arnold Australia Pro Results: Camala Rodriquez continued her winning ways with the Arnold Australia Figure title and Janey Layug won the first-ever Pro Bikini at the 2015 Arnold Australia Pro. This event was previously called the Australian Pro but switched to the Arnold Australia. Dexter Jackson won the men’s open and nearly didn’t make the trip down under due to VISA issues.

FIGURE 411:
Camala Rodriquez was coming off a win at the Figure International in Columbus, Ohio and with this victory puts her in a top contender spot heading into the Olympia later this year. The only other leading lady in Figure who was absent from this lineup was Nicole Wilkins. Candice Keene improved by one placing from her Columbus showing and Candice Lewis dropped to third. Keene hasn’t been 100% on the money yet this year and it’s kept her out of the winner’s circle. Camala has improved and while her conditioning is there she could continue to bring up her quads a bit. Candice Lewis has cartoon like features with a tiny waist and boulder shoulders. She’s improved the conditioning in her legs and arguably looked her best ever at this contest. Just two points separated Keene and Lewis. Strobo moved up into the fourth place spot with Watts slipping to fifth. Latoyra continues to be a consistent contender for the top five in every show she enters. Rounding out the top six was Dana Ambrose who also continues to bring an improved look to the stage. Ann Titone did not make the trip to Australia.

BIKINI BREAKDOWN:
Many thought it would happen in Columbus but it took one more week for Janet Layug to upset Ashley Kaltwasser for the win. Janet took the top spot at the Arnold Australia and you’ll have a tough time finding anyone arguing with that call. Don’t be surprised if you see Janet run the table from here on out this year in every show she wins. She has the body, presentation and looks to win every show she enters. Ashley brought what Ashley always brings to the stage. Ashley needs to improve her stage presence, namely walking in heels. If you watch Janet and then watch Ashley it’s like night and day. Just one point separated the two for first and second though. Rounding out the top spots were India Paulino, Stephanie Mahoe and Narmin Assria.

The results from the men’s show were pretty much like we saw in Columbus. Brandon Curry moved up into the top five and Roelly Winklaar ended up in sixth where it could have gone either way in the earlier comparisons. Wings of Strength Goes Big with New Pro Show

Phoenix Pro show
Wings of Strength has been a a strong supporter of women’s bodybuilding since their inception. Wings of Strength was founded by Jake and Kristal Wood in in 2011. They describe their mission as wanting to ensure there are “meaningful stage opportunities for women to compete in bodybuilding pro shows.” Wings of Strength is a membership website that reinvests “100% of the website proceeds” back into sponsoring pro shows.

The type of vehicle has yet to be determined but a car on top of fiddy grand is pretty legit. Second place is solid too with a $25,000 payout. The Rising Phoenix pro show will use the same point series as the IFBB Pro League uses for the Olympia.

Along with the new show announcement, Wings of Strength announced legendary bodybuilding Lenda Murray will be their official spokesperson. “We think Lenda Murray is the perfect representative for women’s bodybuilding,” says Jake Wood, co-owner of Wings of Strength.

Arnold 2015 Bikini International Results

Bikini International
Ashley Kaltwasser became the first back-to-back Bikini International Champion. “I’ve been building this body my whole life,” Ashley told Arnold when interviewed after her win. Many people, myself included, had Canada’s own Justine Munro winning the show. Justine brought her best physique and one that was balanced from head to toe. She has one of the best booties in the division and presents herself with class. Ashley has a great physique but doesn’t present it as well as some of the other women. The presentation should play a part in it but hey what can you say, she’s the champ for the second year in a row. Coming in third was a favorite to win it heading into the show, Janet Layug. Janet wasn’t quite as full and sharp as she was at the 2014 Olympia where she took second to Ashley. Rounding out the top 6 was India Paulino, Stephanie Mahoe and Narmin Assria. India ditched the yellow bikini and opted for the black suit again. Stephanie Mahoe established herself as a top contender and Narmin showed an improved physique to land her in the top 6.

2015 Arnold Fitness International Results

Fitness International Results
The results in the Fitness International played out as most who follow the division thought they would go. Despite the somewhat expected results, that didn’t change the excitement of watching the routines.

The defending chap, Oksana Grishina brought another new performance to Columbus and demonstrated new ballet skills in her routine. She noted in a post-show interview that she was inspired by the movie Black Swann three years ago but held off on doing the routine. Adela Garcia, the all-time fitness winner, encouraged Oksana to perform the routine. She taught herself ballet and the hours of hard work paid off. Her routine wasn’t the biggest surprise. She moved all the way up to win the physique round and not just win but did so with a unanimous score. The pair of perfect scores earned her the title for the second year in a row.

Tanji Johnson had a great showing and finished in second. She was in third going into the routine rounds and actually finished fourth in the routine round. Coming third, which was a bit higher than I thought she’d finish, was Regiane Da Silva. Regiane was fourth in the physique round and tied for second in the routine round. Bethany Cisternino struggled a bit with her routine and I think it cost her at least one spot. She was in second heading into the night show but had to settle for fourth. She was sixth in the routine round. Michelle Blank brought her best physique to the stage and nailed a solid routine to put her in fifth. An impressive comeback after she injured her foot last year at the Arnold. Myriam Capes moved up in the standings with her routine round but it was just enough to put her into 6th place.

2015 Arnold Figure International Results

Figure International
In a bit of a shock to those who follow the Figure division, we had a bit of an upset tonight. Candice Keene was going for her third title but instead finished in third place. Winning the 2015 Figure International was Colorado’s own Camala Rodriquez and not just win but did so with a perfect score. Candice Lewis, also from Colorado by way of Arizona, moved up into second. This was her best showing at a major show. Candice Keene wasn’t at her best and the judges dropped her into that third place spot because of it. Just on the outside of the top three was rising star Latoyra Watts. Ann Titone rounded out the top five. Tied for sixth was Heather Dees and Genn Strobo but ultimately Strobo won the tie-breaker.

Arnold Fitness International Preview, Predictions & Poll

Fitness International
The 2015 Arnold Fitness International will take place this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. The Fitness International competitors will earn the most money out of all of the female divisions and rightfully so. The women of fitness are tasked with not only being in top shape for the two-piece round but also perform a routine. Their routines aren’t just dancing around and doing a few jumping-jacks. Oh no, the women of the Arnold are some of the elite fitness competitors in the world.

The defending champ, Oksana Grishina will be back and one thing you can always count on from her is a passion filled routine. Oksana doesn’t just go through the motions when it comes to performing her routine. Key word here is performing. The hours of routine practice show in her performances. She usually fairs well in her routines but its the two-piece round that could hold her back from another title. She’ll face another Fitness International champion this week, Tanji Johnson is back and looking to regain the top spot. If Tanji is in shape, and I have no reason to believe she won’t be, she’ll be in the driver’s seat heading into the routine round. Then it will come down to Tanji performing a clean routine whether she takes the top spot again or not.

Don’t sleep on Bethany Wagner-Cisternino. Bethany has the best physique in Fitness and look for her to take the top spot in the two-piece round. If she nails her routine she could also give the champ a run for her money. Of course you can’t rule out Regiane Da Silva who leaped into the third place spot at the 2014 Olympia. Regina’s routines will leave you exhausted just watching. Those are my top four competitors and then after that it gets dicey.

Read the full Fitness International preview on Bodybuilding.com. Cast your vote for who your think will take the top spot in the 2015 Fitness International. If you can’t make it to the finals to see these incredible routines you can watch it live and FREE on bodybuilding.com.
